Part 2 - Chapter 43 - Questions

We catch up with Faunus and Ashraf on the West Bank, while the 'boys' are left, rather unexpectedly with an opportunity to ask Novius some questions
Meanwhile Jim and Clare 'make up', and Jim contacts Captain Hossam asking him to moor the 'Hadeel' on the Corniche next to the Winter Palace so that they can embark on a cruise up the Nile towards Aswan.
So now they all had an opportunity to ask Novius questions - but were faced with the problem of what to ask - after all, Novius had covered a great deal of ground during his complicated talk.
Not surprisingly Ethan was the first to break the silence and start the questions.
"So, its all very well you trying to scare us by saying that these guys are dangerous - but which ones do you mean ?....'cause some are already dead.", Ethan asked.
"True - and I've already sent information to Zac (Zac is head of security), regarding individuals who are very much alive, and might be a problem, and that information he will pas on to all of you.
Steigenberger Hotel - Luxor Egypt
Now while some of these characters you might just 'bump into' - like Hawass, who we know has a permanent suite in the Steigenberger Hotel, just across the road from here, or some of his friends, visiting - most of them are not in Egypt, although some, like Robert Temple, Anthony West, Robert Bauval and Graham Hancock all lead guided tours here along the Nile.
You see that's how they make a lot of their money, apart from selling their books and their lecture tours.", Novius explained.
"So does that mean that all this business about 'aliens', 'gods' and the 'Hall of Records' is all just a money making 'con' ?", Brody, who was always forthright in his approach, suggested.
"Well there are some who say that... - and undoubtedly some of these characters have become quite rich as a result of 'peddling' their theories - but - it has been suggested that some of these individuals are simply being used by far less scrupulous groups, who have more sinister agendas than simply making money, or becoming famous - in fact these groups don't want to become famous in any way...", Novius said, ominously.
'Indiana Jones'
"You mean like our 'friends' in the CIA ?", Glen suggested.
"Yes, possibly - and also others.", Novius responded.
"The point is, for all of you, anyone who really means 'business', and comes in contact with you, will not go around looking like a rather poor, 'seedy' imitation of 'Indiana Jones'.
These people will not 'stand out' in any way - and will come across as 'nice guys' -  just ordinary tourists, or ordinary Egyptians.", Zac said knowingly.
"And why does that make me feel paranoid ?", 'Sigi' asked.
"Well you shouldn't be... it's probably just as dangerous in 'Vegas", Josh said - but didn't sound very assured of his own statement.
"And this is why we're going on a little trip down the Nile - which will hopefully draw attention away from the 'Winter Palace', and all the activity  that's been happening 'round here...", Jim added.
"Well that sounds good, as long as we don't have to traipse around all those 'crumbly' ruins again...", Ethan said.
Crocodile Temple - Kom Ombo
"Well, the crocodile temple - and the museum - they was good ! - but some of the more ruined  ones were a bit boring.". Max added.
"Well that's OK - but taking into consideration what Novius and Zac have said, you will need to be accompanied by Zac and Ethan on any trip 'on-shore'...", Jim said firmly.
"Gosh-darn ! - So I will be  traipsing round the ruins...", Ethan exclaimed.
"Well of course, Ethan.
You'll be needed to look after Teddy.", Jim said.
"And whose going to look after me ?", Ethan countered.
"Yes, but you're part of our security team.", Zac explained.
"More likely I'm just there to carry Teddy's Walmart bag, with all his little 'visual aids', Teddy retorted.
"More than likely...", 'Sigi' said with a broad grin.
"One thing I must say now, while we are talking about the cruise...", Jim began hesitantly,
"An important reason for us taking this trip is Clare...
So far she has had a pretty rough time on this trip.
She's spent much of the time selecting female staff - and choosing tableware, menus and bed linen and advising on redecorating - and even some gardening - and it hasn't been much of a holiday for her.
So, I think she deserves some time to relax - lie out in the sun - and see what are some very famous sights."
This comment by Jim, of course, made Ethan feel very guilty, as he had been part of the conversation with Clare that had caused Zac to become very concerned about some 'security issues'.
Jim - being as always very discreet, and a perfect 'gentleman'- had made no mention of that fact- but he was concerned that Clare had felt very much on the periphery of the 'boy's' involvement in Egypt, and he wanted to make things right for her, by giving her an enjoyable time cruising on the Nile - like a real tourist.
"OK - so I think we're all looking forward to our cruise - but what about this 'portal-thingy'...", Ethan began.
"Now Novius said that this magic dude Crowley opened a 'portal' way back in 1918 - but as far as I know they didn't have modern elevators, which is what our portal looks like - so how come our 'portal' doesn't look very 'magical' ?", Ethan asked.
Teddy looked like he was thinking...
The 'Boss'
"Well, Ethan...
Marvel (Jack) Parsons
in the past the 'portal-thingy', as you put it, was a magical idea in the mind of the magician - and it required someone who had truly great magical powers to bring, and hold a 'mental portal' in being.
Now it is often said that magic and science are in some ways similar, and when the 'Boss' first came to this 'time reality' he understood this.
So he didn't get involved with some weird person like Marvel Parsons, but instead tried to find someone more in tune with modern ways and technology - rather than a 'dabbler' in questionable 'occult practices'.
This, of course, was before you 'boys' came here...", Teddy said, referring to Jim, Ethan, Josh and Zac.
Howard Stark
"And who was this person that the 'Boss' found ?", Josh asked.
"He was a fabulously wealthy scientist and technician based in New York, who did a lot of work for the US Government - mainly in the defence field.
His work was vastly in advance of almost all the other scientists working at the time - which was during the late '30s.
Not only that, he was also very open minded.
His name was Howard Stark... the creator of 'Stark Industries'.
Now to look at them you might imagine that Parsons and Stark were brothers - with slicked back hair and a small, neat moustache - but actually they were far from alike.
Parsons was clever, but Stark was a genius.", Teddy explained.
"So how come we've never heard about Stark before ?", Glen asked.
Tony Stark
"Well look at the control panel that Teddy uses the next time you enter the 'dimensional portal', and you will see the logo of 'Stark Industries'.", Teddy replied.
"So this guy, Stark, invented the 'dimensional portal ?", Max asked.
"Oh no...  he set up the project to 'back engineer' it, after Faunus showed him the 'Lion Cave' - many years ago. (see below).
Howard, however, 'passed away' before he could see the project finished.", Teddy explained.
"So who made that 'neat' little box for the 'portal' that Ethan carries around in your Walmart bag ?", Brody asked Teddy.
"That was Howard's son, Tony...
Tony took over the business when Howard died, and now he works, on certain projects for us, in collaboration with Faunus."
'Young Glen'
"And of course Mr Stark, with Faunus' help, made me...", Teddy said proudly - "but originally I was only meant to be a 'kid's toy' - you know, for 'young Glen'.", Teddy continued, while Ethan looked surprised, and Glen looked very embarrassed.
"Then, when 'young Glen' didn't need me, Tony and Faunus turned me into the lovable 'super-teddy' that you have now. ", Teddy said.
"Well, I don't know about 'lovable' - you must admit you do have quite a temper.", Ethan commented caustically.
"Well that's not my fault - just a bit of faulty programming - probably.", Teddy said shyly.
'Young Glen' was the original version of 'Glen' before his age had been properly adjusted by Faunus - just a 'glitch' in one of Faunus' little 'games. If you're confused - and who wouldn't be - follow the link here...
"So why haven't we met this Mr Stark ?", Glen asked."
"Well he was at the funeral of the 'Boss'...", Jim said.
"And...?", 'Sigi' asked.
"Well... Tony, contrary to what many people imagine, is a very retiring individual - and really, the funeral was not exactly the right place for introductions to be made.", Jim tried to explain.
"But you are going to introduce us eventually ?", Ethan asked.
"After all, he was partly responsible for creating my bestest friend.", Ethan added.
"Well yes...", Jim began hesitantly.
"But first we need to find out more about this sarcophagus - if we can find it again...."
Jim paused and thought for a moment.
"Now if we do find it, I will ask Tony to come here and look at it - and see if he can 'back-engineer' the technology.", Jim said.
'Back engineering', often called 'reverse engineering', is a process in which software, machines, aircraft, architectural structures and other products are deconstructed to extract design information from them. Often,  'back engineering' involves deconstructing individual components of larger products. There are many reasons for performing 'back engineering' in various fields. 'Back engineering' has its origins in the analysis of hardware for commercial or military advantage, however, the process is not concerned with just creating a 'copy' or 'changing' the artefact in some way. It more often an analysis to deduce design features from products with little or no additional knowledge about the procedures involved in their original production.
Hi Tech Sarcophagus
"Wowy !... so that's your 'Secret Squirrel' plan for bringing us here to Egypt again...", Ethan said.
"Actually - no...
Not just the sarcophagus - but in order to turn the 'Winter Palace' into a 'home' - for all of us, as well as for you and the kittens, and - as I tried to explain earlier, to give Clare a well deserved holiday.", Jim replied, sounding a little annoyed.
"OK, Jim, I understand... sorry.", Ethan said, sounding suitably chastened.
"Yes, but it will be fun, finding the sarcophagus, and then meeting this Tony Stark guy.", Glen said, being unusually enthusiastic.
"Now this sarcophagus...  it doesn't look ancient Egyptian to me...
it looks 'modern' - kinda technological -",  Josh said, sounding puzzled.
"So.. Teddy... who do you think made it, or where's it from ?", 'Sigi' asked.
'Sigi', not surprisingly, was very clever - very intelligent, though most of the time he hid it well.
"Now that, 'Sigi' is a very good question.", Teddy said.
 Sarcophagus - Serapeum - Saqqara
"Yes, and this takes us back to what I was telling all of  you about earlier... ", Novius said, entering the debate once again.
"There are many anomalous objects to be found in Egypt, and in other places on the planet...", Novius began.
"Excuse me, Novius... but what does 'anomalous' mean ?", Ethan asked, in his best 'little boy' voice.
Realizing that Novius might lose his 'chain of thought', Teddy answered.
"Well according to my data-base it means..." - and Teddy quite unnecessarily cleared his throat -
"a thing that is different from what is usual, or not in agreement with something else, and therefore not satisfactory...
I think the first bit is what Novius means...", Teddy explained.
"Than you Teddy...", Novius said politely.
The Great Pyramid and Sphinx - Gizeh - Reconstruction
"Okey dokey... carry on Novius - and sorry to interrupt.", Ethan said - trying to be equally polite.
"Yes - well... as I was saying, there are many anomalous objects to be found in Egypt, such as the  Sarcophagi in the Serapeum at Saqqara (see image above) - huge granite 'boxes' with ridiculously massive covers and in every case, except one empty, and apparently never opened before they were excavated - which had been moved down tunnels and placed in spaces that are impossibly small.
In addition the carving of the granite is to 'optical standards' which in no way could be duplicated, even today.
The Great Pyramid, of course, is another example of an anomaly...
If it was actually a tomb - which is very unlikely - then there is the question of why it is astronomically aligned to an almost inconceivable degree of accuracy - and to what purpose ?
Tri-Lobal Schist Disk
And, of course, being first entered by the Arabs - with great difficulty as it was still sealed from ancient times - it was found to be empty - no mummy, no treasure and, strangest of all, no inscriptions (except for curious so-called 'masons marks', in inaccessible part of the pyramid !
And then, on a very much smaller scale, are vases and bowls, carved from the hardest stones, such as granite, schist, quartzite and basalt.
One of the strangest of such objects is the schist disk, discovered in 1936, at Saqqara, in the tomb of Sabu, the son of Pharaoh Anedjib.
The purpose of the disk is unknown, although many outlandish theories have been proposed, but the real mystery is how it was made.
Schist contains mica and is not a particularly strong mineral and is difficult to work, and so the mystery remains.
The disc has a maximum diameter of 61 cm and a maximum height of 10 cm. Schist is a medium-grade metamorphic rock.  Quartz often occurs in drawn-out grains to such an extent that a particular form called quartz schist is produced. Schist is characteristically foliated, meaning that the individual mineral grains split off easily into flakes or slabs. The word schist is derived ultimately from the Greek word σχίζειν (schízein) meaning "to split", which is a reference to the ease with which schists can be split.
Now this, along with the thin stemmed, wide bottomed vases which the Egyptian craftsmen managed to hollow out the hardest minerals - and much else - provided much of the material that the 'authors', and so-called 'researchers' based their theories for the alien origins of ancient cultures - the 'Ancient Astronaut Theory'.
While such a theory is very interesting, apart from various anomalies that I have referred to, there is no documentary evidence to support such theories - other than the 'mythologies' of such cultures.
And, for instance, there are no descriptions of how the Gizeh Pyramids, the  Osireion at Abydos or the Serapeum at Saqqara were built.
Equally, the proposed 'aliens' were obviously very tidy, as they never left behind any tools - other than the primitive copper and stone tools that have been found by archaeologists.
And so, as I said before, the mystery remains." Novius concluded.
"But can't Faunus let us know ? - after all, he is an 'alien-thingy' -  in a way.", Ethan said.
"Maybe... but he's not telling..", Josh said - and if anyone knew what Faunus might or might not tell, then it was Josh.
"But if these theories of 'Ancient Astronauts' are 'rubbish', then why are some of these powerful corporations, governments and intelligence services so interested in these alternative theories ?", 'Sigi' asked.
"Well, as Novius might say, that's a mystery - but not entirely.
'McDonald's' - Mabad Al Karnak - Luxor - Egypt
You see, if there is only a slight chance that some of these ideas might have some truth, then the implications for the world - in many ways, is enormous.", Zac said.
"OK... then if you are right, Zac... what should we be watching out for, if we go for a stroll along the 'Corniche', or go for a cheeseburger at the 'McDonald's' near the 'Luxor Temple'...", Ethan asked.
"Well, briefly, anyone who seems 'over friendly'...", Zac began.
"Now it's obvious that people here in Luxor have noticed us, particularly as we have taken over the 'Winter Palace'.
Our big cars will also have brought us some attention, as well as our security guards...
Like in all moderately sized Egyptian cities there are Mukhabarat offices in Luxor, painted a tasteful 'pink', but most of the members of the Mukhabarat look and dress like ordinary Egyptians.
So, unless you know the person who tries to make friends with you, do not respond - but be polite.
Such persons can become very unpleasant.
The General Intelligence Service (جهاز المخابرات العامة‎ Gihaz El Mukhabarat El ‘Amma; GIS or GID), often referred to as the Mukhabarat (المخابرات‎ El Mukhabarat) is an Egyptian intelligence agency responsible for providing national security intelligence, both domestically and transnationally, with a counter-terrorism focus. The GIS is part of the Egyptian intelligence community, together with the Office of Military Intelligence Services and Reconnaissance (إدارة المخابرات الحربية والاستطلاع‎ Idarat El Mukhabarat El Ḥarbiya Wel Istitlaʾ) and National Security Agency (قطاع الأمن الوطني‎ Ketaʿ El Amn El Watani). The decision to set up an Egyptian intelligence service was taken by President Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1954, and placed under the command of Zakaria Mohieddin. The agency's importance rose when Nasser assigned its command to Salah Nasr, who held the post of director of the GID from 1957 to 1967, and thoroughly reorganized the agency. Interestingly, although Egypt presents itself as a Muslim state, the Mukarabat logo incorporates the 'Eye of Ra', the 'Falcon of Horus', and 'Apophis' - the 'Snake of Evil' - all set in a Pharonic Cartouche.
But there are other people, apart from representatives of the Egyptian government, who might approach you.
Such individual might be working for the 'DIA', but while they might be Americans, they could equally appear to be tourists, or people working in Egypt of any nationality - or, of course, Egyptians.
D I A Logo
The 'DIA' - 'Defence Intelligence Agency'
is an intelligence agency of the United States federal government, specializing in defence and military intelligence. The agency's role encompasses the collection and analysis of military-related foreign political, economic, industrial, geographic, and medical and health intelligence. DIA's intelligence operations extend beyond zones of combat, and approximately half of its employees serve overseas at hundreds of locations and in U.S. Embassies in 140 countries. The agency specializes in the collection and analysis of human-source intelligence (HUMINT), both overt and clandestine
AMROC - Logo
"So what you're really saying is be careful of everybody ?" Max said.
"Yes, I'm afraid so.", Zac replied.
"And also, there may be private individuals, and organisations like Hawass, the 'Association for Research and Enlightenment', the 'Freemasons' - and 'AMROC' - a group that Teddy has only just told me about...", Zac added.
"Well this is getting real creepy - all these weird people keeping an eye on us...", Ethan said.
"So, Teddy - tell us about this..." 'Sigi' said... obviously intrigued.
"Well...",  Teddy began, sounding a little unnerved as he had forgotten to mention this group previously - and there was a short pause as Teddy loaded his data, and then he began.
Ancient Egyptian Origins ?
"AMORC, based in San Jose, California, uses "traditional" history, consisting of tales and legends represented as having been passed down for centuries by word of mouth, as well as the conventional 'chronological' history, which consists of verifiable fact. According to its traditional history, AMORC claims its origin are derived from the 'Mystery Schools' (?) established in Egypt during the joint reign of Pharaoh Thutmose III and Hatshepsut, about 1500 BCE.
They united the priesthoods of Egypt into a single order under the leadership of Hatshepsut's Vizier, Hapuseneb.
Each Temple had its associated 'Per Ankh' (House of Life) where the Mysteries were handed down.
In uniting the priesthoods, the 'Per Ankhu' were also united.
Those 'schools' were formed to probe into 'the mysteries of life'.
Masonic 'House of the Temple' - Washington DC
While there is a christian veneer to the organisation, the emphasis is on ancient Egypt- but if you ask me it's all very unlikely...
Walt Disney was a member of AMROC, as well as being a 33 Degree Freemason, which links us back to von Braun, the 'Guardians' and our young friend Ashraf.", Teddy explained.
The House of the Temple is a Masonic temple in Washington, D.C., United States that serves as the headquarters of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry
"My ! That is complicated..." Ethan said nervously.
"Yes - but the main thing to remember is to be on your guard - and don't go anywhere alone.", Zac advised.
"So, perhaps it would be safer to stay in 'Vegas...", Brody quipped.
"Well possibly, but we're here now, and anyway we'll soon be much safer, on the river.", Jim said.
"Anyway, I think it s possibly a good idea to 'call it a night' - unless anyone else ha anymore questions.", Jim suggested.
But nobody did have any more questions - but they all had a lot to think about.
Back in the Jim's suite Teddy was soon on the bed, sorting out his cushions, while Jim and Ethan  took a shower.
"You know, Jim", Ethan began, - "One thing that really troubles me about everything that we talked about tonight was the way that everything seemed to link up.
All those people and groups that were mentioned were all connected in some way or another.
Even a seemingly nice guy like 'uncle Walt'...", Ethan said.
Walter Elias Disney
"You mean Walt Disney...", Jim interrupted.
"Yes, like Walt...
German American Bund
When I watch 'Thumper', or 'Figaro' the cat, I don't think of weird secret societies and 'aliens' and things.
It just seems so strange."
Ethan said as he strolled into the bedroom, vigorously towelling himself.
"Well Walt Disney wasn't quite the 'nice guy' that you might imagine.", Teddy said quietly.
"So what are you saying ?", Ethan asked.
"Well - some time ago, your 'Uncle Walt' was considered by some to be a 'Nazi-sympathizer' - you know, the guys like SS Dr Brandt - the guy who abducted Jim, and this wasn't helped by the fact that Walt also personally hosted German filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl when she came to promote her film 'Olympia' in 1938.

Leni Riefenstahl
Leni Riefenstahl  born 22 August 1902 and died 8 September 2003, was a German film director, photographer, and actress, known for her role in producing National Socialist propaganda. A talented swimmer and an artist, Riefenstahl also became interested in dancing during her childhood, taking lessons and performing across Europe. Riefenstahl became one of the few women in Germany to direct a film during the Weimar Period. In the 1930s, she directed the German propaganda films 'Triumph des Willens' ('Triumph of the Will') and 'Olympia', resulting in worldwide attention and acclaim. The films are widely considered two of the most effective and technically innovative propaganda films ever made.

Also, in the 1930s Disney attended meetings of a pro-Nazi organization, the 'German American Bund'. (see above)
Oddly, Disney was not of pure German extraction, although his mother had some German ancestors.
Also there have been many rumours about what some have described as Disney's 'inappropriate' interest in his young male stars.
Bobby Driscoll - Peter Pan and Disney
Bobby Driscoll
This is particularly the case with Bobby Driscoll - the original model for Peter Pan - who also appeared in a number of 'live action' Disney movies, including 'Treasure Island'.
Driscoll was used in the 'Rotoscoping' process, which captured the boy's acting for the cartoon. 'Rotoscoping' is an animation technique that animators use to trace over motion picture footage, frame by frame, to produce realistic action. Originally, animators projected photographed live-action movie images onto a glass panel, and traced over the image. This projection equipment is referred to as a rotoscope, developed by Polish-American animator Max Fleischer. This device was eventually replaced by computers, but the process is still called 'rotoscoping'. Walt Disney's animators, used the technique in many of the Disney 'feature-length' cartoons, including 'Peter Pan'.
Disney often said that he 'saw himself as a boy in Bobby' - a very revealing statement.
The tragedy of young Bobby was that he died aged 31 - an alcoholic and a homeless heroin addict, abandoned by everyone, including Disney.
Roy Disney
Kurt Russell
Also, a final, and very odd fact about Disney is that the last two words that Disney ever wrote, as he was dying from lung cancer in 1966 were  'Kurt Russell'.
Russel had been another startlingly handsome young boy star at the beginning of his career, and had been employed when he was just 15 years old, by Disney.
What all this implies about Disney is difficult to say.....
So... perhaps he was not such a nice guy.", Teddy concluded.
"Well, I wish you'd told me all of this before I went to see Roy...", Ethan said to Teddy.
Roy Oliver Disney (June 24, 1893 – December 20, 1971) is the older brother of Walt Disney. While Walt led the creative side, Roy guided the business side and finances. Together Roy and Walt founded 'Disney Studios' as brothers, but Walt later bought out most of Roy's share in 1929 so, unlike Max and Dave Fleischer of rival Fleischer Studios, Roy was not a co-producer. However, Roy was an equal partner in all facets of the production company.
"Yes...  any way, I have to get dressed, and have a quick word with Clare before we set off for our cruise tomorrow.", Jim said ... which surprised both Teddy and Ethan.
Wearing only a pair of white silk flannel slacks, an open neck, white cotton shirt and bare feet, Jim walked quietly up to Clare's suite, and tapped lightly on the door.
"Yes...  who is it ?", Clare, who was not used to having late  night visitors, answered.
"It's me... Jamie.", Jim replied softly.
"I need to have a quick talk with you before we go on our Nile cruise...", Jim added.
"Alright Jim - so what's the problem ?", Clare said, sounding nervous and concerned, as she slowly opened the door to her suite.
"Sorry to disturb you so late, but I've been very busy today...", Jim began.
"Yes, Sir, and so have I.", Clare responded - obviously not very happy.
"Now Clare - stop this 'Sir' business.
I know you're upset - but that's why I'm here - to try and make amends.", Jim said, trying to calm things down.
Clare's Suite - Winter Palace
Clare sat down in one of the armchairs, and Jim sat rather precariously on the edge of the bed.
"I know that you thought that this would be a holiday, and there wouldn't be so much work for you to do, but here in Egypt it's not permitted for us 'boys' to supervise or be with the women who are employed here and are not family.", Jim began.
"Yes, I understand that now, Jim." Clare replied, as she began to calm down.
"I know that you find things here very different from back in 'Vegas, but you see, things here are very much like the way things were when me and Ethan - and Josh and Zac were back in Greece and Italy, except that here there are TVs, 'phones and 'autos' and such things now.
"Yes, I am beginning to see that now.
Penthouse Building - Las Vegas - Nevada
Before, I found it difficult to believe those 'stories' you told me, but seeing you, and the others here, and the way you fit in so well, I begin to see that they were not just 'stories' - and that frightens me in some ways.", Clare finally acknowledge.
"Of course not Clare... I would never lie to you - ever - but it's nothing to be frightened of - I'm always just 'Jim', the boy with the 'wonky memory' - Ethan's just so sweet, and Teddy, well he's just Teddy..", Jim said.
"I know, Jim...", Clare said softly.
"I do understand that there's a lot going on here, and it is clear from what Zac has said to me that 'security' here might be a problem,", Clare continued.
"Yes, and then there are matters that we, I mean Novius and the 'boy's and I, need to discus, which normally we would talk about at the 'Club Athena', or one other other hotels - or the 'Villa Athena', while you would be at the 'Penthouse Building' - but here it looks as if you are being left out of things.", Jim tried to explain.
Dahabyia Hadeel
"I know what your saying - the less I know the safer it is for me...", Clare said,
"But when we go on this cruise, for most of the time it will just be like an ordinary tourist trip on the Nile - ", Jim began to explain,
"Yes, but unlike an ordinary tourist trip, we will sail in a very large boat, and three or four limos following, and there shall be no other tourists...", Clare said, interrupting.
"Well yes - but then it's 'security' again...", Jim added
A ذهبية  dahabiyah is a passenger boat used on the river Nile in Egypt. The term is normally used to describe a shallow-bottomed, barge-like vessel with two or more sails. The vessels have been around in one form or another for thousands of years, with similar craft being depicted on the walls of the tombs of Egyptian Pharaohs. Indeed, the name derives from the Arabic word for "gold", owing to similar, gilded state barges previously used by the Muslim rulers of Egypt.
"Yes, I understand.
It was the business with Ethan, wasn't it ?
Faunus must have told you.", Clare admitted.
Jim nodded.
"Ethan and I had a long talk, and I asked him lots of questions - but now, strangely, I can't remember much about that conversation, or the answers he gave me.
Maybe it's the heat, or the sun
But if I have anymore questions, I will ask you, and only you, and if you don't want to give me answers, then I'll understand." Clare promised.
"That's good Clare.
I think it will be better, and safer, for all of us that way.", Jim replied
"But I do feel for you, Jim.
I think you must have the burden of some very profound, maybe frightening secrets.
Novius and Faunus can probably deal with that, maybe Zac to an extent, but you, and Ethan both seem so young - and you, for better or worse are the 'Boss'...", Clare said.
"Yes, but there's a reason why I am the 'Dominus' - and I do have some help.", Jim said, trying to reassure Clare.
"I do hope so...", Clare replied.
"But I must go now, Clare - it's getting late, and we start our cruise tomorrow.", Jim said rising from Clare's bed, and quietly leaving.

Werner Heisenberg
When Jim got back to his suite Ethan was still awake, apparently talking to Teddy.
"Is everything alright with Clare ?", Ethan asked Jim.
"Yes... everything's good.
"I was just explaining to her why we couldn't tell her about everything that's going on.", Jim replied.
Teddy, who was listening, but pretending to be preoccupied with 'plumping up' his cushions, said nothing - but these humans worried him, as they seemed to be so difficult to understand.
Teddy could quite probably make Einstein look like a bit of a dunce, but it was the unpredictability of humans that bothered him.
It was all a bit, but only a bit,  like Heisenberg's 'Uncertainty Principle' - 'Unsicherheitsprinzip', as Teddy had it 'tagged' in his database.
And Teddy then went through a possible interpretation of the theory, based on 'Everett's 'Many worlds Theory'.
Hugh Everett III
The 'many-worlds' interpretation originally outlined by Hugh Everett III in 1957 is partly meant to reconcile the differences between Einstein's and Bohr's views by replacing Bohr's wave function collapse with an ensemble of deterministic and independent universes whose distribution is governed by wave functions and the 'Schrödinger Equation'. Thus, uncertainty in the 'many-worlds interpretation' follows from each observer, within any universe, having no knowledge of what goes on in the other universes.
Yes... Teddy thought - and for a moment Teddy considered sharing these ideas with Ethan - but then thought better of such a dangerous plan.

This Nile cruise had been planned by Jim mainly for Clare and 'Sigi' - It was partly as a 'thank you' to Clare for her having looked after him and Ethan for so long, and it was also intended to be a nice holiday for 'Sigi', for his 'gap gap year', and also a reward for 'services rendered' by Brody - but as with many things that Jim (in  the footsteps of the 'Boss') had organized, there was a secret agenda, only shared with a few, such as Faunus, Zac and the inscrutable Mr Stark.
