This chapter involves the solving of the problems posed by John Lewis - the transportation of the sarcophagus, and the return of the 'holiday group' to the 'old US of A'....

"Hi Jim...
We've got a possible 'problemo'...", Ethan began.
"And what's that, Ethan ?". Jim replied.
"Well, we have a visitor....
John.", Ethan explained.
"OK...
So get Zac to entertain him for a while in the 'atrium' (between themselves, Jim, Ethan and the original 'gang' sometimes used Latin in their conversation...)
Meanwhile, get Teddy to prepare the co-ordinates for the 'portal'.
Then, meet me in the 'Victorian Lounge', and bring Faunus - and don't worry, Teddy and Faunus know what's going on...", Jim said hurriedly.
"Well I'm glad they do... because I don't !", Etan said, sounding puzzled.
"OK... but just trust me on this ... and do it quickly !", Jim said, closing his 'phone.
So Zac briefly chatted to Lewis while they made their way along one of the numerous hallways in the 'Winter Palace', while Ethan contacted Faunus, as he took Teddy down to the Victorian lounge.
So have you got those 'co-ordinate-thingys' that Jim was talking about ?", Ethan nervously asked Teddy - as they made their way to the 'Victorian Lounge' by a different route to that which Zac was using.

"And where is this 'new super Dimensional Portal' now ?", Ethan asked.
"It's in the 'Victorian Lounge' - as usual.", Teddy explained.
"But isn't that a bit silly !- the people who work here might see it...", Ethan said, sounding alarmed.
"Oh no - it's in its golden box - in a secret compartment - fitted with all sorts of alarms and suchlike, and only me, Tony and Faunus can open the digital and biometric locks - so its perfectly safe.", Teddy said.

"There !", Teddy declared proudly.
"OK - very clever...
Now let's get it set up, as I think Zac and this 'John Lewis' person will be arriving in a moment.
So Teddy pressed the red button on the front of the gold box, and suddenly, without any warning, the 'portal' appeared.
"So where's all the smoke and stuff ?", Ethan asked.
"Oh... Tony fixed that.
He thought the clouds and smoke was not very discreet - or tasteful for that matter - like the doggies.", Teddy said, as if he were stating the obvious.
"OK... but I liked the doggies", Etan commented.
Just then Faunus 'appeared' - literally...
"Ah... the new 'portal'... Excellent !", Faunus said, as he morphed into NSA Agent Smith (!), (who had previously 'appeared' at 'Area 51' in Nevada, and the 'Kimpton Hotel' in Denver, Colorado).

As Faunus morphed into Agent James Smith, he strolled round the strange object that looked suspiciously like a weird, abandoned elevator... and then came face to face with Agent John Lewis - apparently a real CIA Agent.

Teddy squeaked as quietly as he was able - not wanting to draw attention to himself at such a dramatic juncture.
"Don't squeeze me - I need you to operate this remote control I've got...", Teddy whispered.
"What remote-control-thingy ?", Ethan asked, becoming more puzzled by the minute.
There was then a short moment of confusion as Lewis tried to come to terms with the large, futuristic object situated in the centre of a far from futuristic room, as well as an individual that he was sure he had met before, but who was now showing him a 'NSA' (National Security Agency) identity tag, indicating 'Presidential Authority'.
So this young man (Faunus in disguise) - an apparently accredited member of the 'United States Intelligence Community' - was an NSA Agent, and therefore an individual who almost certainly outranked Lewis

The 'National Security Agency' (NSA) is the top level intelligence agency of the 'United States Department of Defense', under the authority of the 'Director of National Intelligence' (DNI). The NSA is responsible for global monitoring, collection, and processing of information and data for foreign and domestic intelligence and counterintelligence purposes. "So you're on this case also ?", Lewis asked Smith, somewhat lamely.
"Oh yes... for some considerable time.
I would have thought you would have been informed.", Agent Smith (Faunus) replied.
Lewis shrugged his shoulders, looking embarrassed.

"Probably it's what you were looking for when you came here...", Agent Smith (Faunus) replied.
"Well I was sent here to check up on some anomalous reports originating from the Egyptian security agencies.", Lewis replied, trying to be non-committal.
Agent Smith (Faunus), of course, realized that Lewis was undoubtedly referring to the incident at Armant.
At this point Ethan was desperately trying to work out what was going on.
"What's 'anomalous' mean, Teddy ?", Ethan whispered.
"It means 'weird' - and now be quiet !", Teddy replied - whispering loudly - if such a thing is possible...
Lewis then went over to Agent Smith.
"So look... can we have a quiet word..." Lewis asked.
"Of course...",
And then the two 'agents' went over to one side of the Victorian lounge' and, rather unconvincingly, pretended to look out of the windows at the gardens where the kittens were playing.
At that point Teddy switched on his high-definition listening device. (in green)
"So what's your interest in these guys here ?", Agent Smith (Faunus) began - wanting to take the 'high ground' and get some information from Lewis while he was still able.
"What - you mean the CIA's interest ?", Lewis asked.
"Well yes - the CIA... and the other lot...", Agent Smith (Faunus) replied knowingly.

"And by strange you mean ?...", Faunus asked.
"Strange, for us, are events that might be of concern with regard to the security of the US, or our allies - like breaches in 'air-space security' - or the penetration of 'sensitive establishments' - or unusual 'signals events.", Smith explained.
Faunus then walked casually over to the front of the portal.
"Well would you like to have a look inside this thing ? ", Agent Smith (Faunus) asked.
"What - you have access to this...? , Lewis asked, obviously surprised.
"Oh yes... it's been impounded by the NSA... but you're welcome to inspect it.", Agent Smith (Faunus) replied.
"And what actually is it ?", Lewis asked.

The double doors silently slid open, and Lewis cautiously stepped into the 'portal'.
The first thing that Lewis noticed was the inexplicable impression that the interior of the 'portal' was far larger than the exterior.
The second thing was that the interior of the 'portal' was completely empty.
The third thing that he noticed was the small control panel to the right of the doors that bore the legend 'Stark Industries'.

Now while Lewis was 'exploring' the interior of the 'Dimensional Portal', Zac had left the Victorian Lounge, and was making arrangements with his security personnel for the transportation of the contents of the large truck which would be carrying the carefully concealed elements of the dismantled sarcophagus.

Meanwhile, Jim was informing Murad that their evening meal would be their last meal for some time - and giving instructions to the 'head gardener', obviously with regard to the gardens, and giving instructions to the chief building supervisor regarding continuing the refurbishment of the buildings, and the draining and repairs to the pools and fountains etc.
In addition Jim was handing out those crisp white envelopes that contained the appropriate monetary rewards for work well done to a staff that would be retained on full pay in readiness for the 'young Pasha's' next visit - although Jim could give no guarantee as to when that would be.
Back in the 'Victorian Lounge' Ethan was looking warily at the remote control that Teddy had given him - which seemed to be a miniaturized version of the control panel inside the 'Dimensional Portal'.
"Well it's almost the same as the control panel inside the 'portal' - except that it's outside the 'portal'...", Teddy replied evasively.
"Right - so what do you want me to do ?", Ethan asked.
"It's simple...
Press the first button on the right, and wait until the doors have closed, and then press OK.
Then press the button on the left - that will open the doors.", Teddy explained.
"Okey dokey !", Ethan replied.
And Ethan then did what Teddy had told him.

"So now what's happened ?", Ethan asked - sounding puzzled.
"Well, by now the 'portal' has reached about 18 km, or 11 miles high, where the atmospheric pressure is so low that water boils at body temperature.
"OK... so ?"," Ethan said slowly.

"So John Lewis is now dead ?", Ethan asked.
"Yes.", Teddy replied.
"Well I suppose that's what comes of talking to tourists you don't know at 'Trajan's Kiosk' !", Ethan said decisively.
And at that moment the 'Dimensional Portal' silently reappeared.
"Oh... and don't touch it for a while....
It will be very, very, very cold !", Teddy warned, indicating with his paw the suddenly returned 'portal'.
"Right...", Ethan said.
Now in case you're wondering why the 'Portal' wasn't red hot, when it reappeared in the 'Victorian Lounge' in the Winter Palace, from having passed through the atmosphere on 're-entry', you must understand that the 'portal' does not 'travel' through three dimensional space, but rather it simply it simply 'transitions' from one set of 'co-ordinates' to another. The 'portal' was very cold, however, as it had spent a short period of time 11 miles above the Earth, at a temperature of around −51 °C !
So, as Ethan returned the 'portal' to its gold box, he was left wondering - with an uneasy feeling - that he had been, in some way, implicit in a murder - although Ethan wouldn't have said it like that - as he didn't know what the word 'implicit' actually meant.
Jim, of course, had arranged it all, with Teddy, and although Teddy was the nicest of teddy-bears, Teddy lacked any real moral sensibility - so for Teddy it was just a 'job to be done' - and as efficiently as possible.
But no evidence was left at the Winter Palace as to what had actually happened, and John Lewis left no witnesses to his demise (which had occurred eleven mile above the Earth) and there was no corpse to tell a gruesome tale.
In fact, it was another 'perfect crime' - but then Jim, or Marcus as he had been known, long, long ago had a good teacher, in the form of Gnæus Gracchus - who we also know as Mr Alexander Johnson - 'the Boss'...
While dastardly deeds were taking place in the 'Victorian Lounge' at the 'Winter Palace, Tony Stark had been supervising the dismantling and loading of the various components, frames and panels that made up the 'sarcophagus' that had been brought from Armant.
Once disassembled, it had become obvious that the 'sarcophagus' was definitely an anomalous object, as the technological complexity of the inner workings clearly indicated.
And once disassembled, the crates were dispatched to Luxor International Airport in the large armoured truck.

"So I'd like you all to be packed, and ready to leave first thing in the morning.", Jim announced, as the first course of their meal arrived.
"Well, I'm not looking forward very much to going in that 'portal-thingy'....
I don't fancy being dropped onto the Sahara Desert, or into the Atlantic on my way back to 'Vegas...", Ethan said.
"Don't worry, Ethan.
We need to keep everything very 'legal' by having our visas checked and our passports stamped - so we're going by air.".
"Oh no... not another endless flight - with a stop off in Dubai !", Josh moaned.
"No, not this time, Josh.
While we have been away, Franklin has been busy, and has arranged the purchase, on my behalf, of our own airliner.", Jim revealed.
Everyone sitting round the table look surprised -and at first impressed - and then a little worried.
And Ethan voiced what was probably everyone's concern.

Jim shook his head, smiling.
"No...
Franklin has got us a jet - about the same size as the Emirates one we used before.", Jim replied.
"What ? You mean just for us...
Our own airliner ?", Josh asked incredulously.
"Yes...
Our own airliner.", Jim replied.
"Wowy !", Ethan exclaimed.
"I'll believe it when I see it...", Sigi mumbled.
"Well OK, Sigi, but even now Zac, Tony and Ashraf are supervising the loading of the disassembled 'sarcophagus into the cargo hold of the 'plane.", Jim said.

Teddy - as expected - took the whole matter in his stride - and made no comment at all.
Later, when Teddy, Ethan and Jim returned to their suite, Ethan had calmed down as he reflected on the day's events.
"You know, Jim, I'm beginning to feel bad about what we did to John Lewis...", Ethan said as he helped Teddy gather his cushions and pillows together for the night.
"Well I understand how you may be feeling - but we didn't have much choice.", Jim began.

You see even if he hadn't seen the 'portal', he would still have been a danger to us - and kept investigating, and bringing in more and more people to try and find out who we are, and what we're doing...", Teddy said.
"Yes... 'suppose so...", Ethan replied, as he went off to have a shower.

The next morning everyone spent their time packing, except for Teddy, of course.
He had very little to pack, apart from his bright blue 'hp' laptop, his DVDs and of course his large, white plastic Walmart bag which contained the precious gold box.
No one, however, seemed to be in a hurry.
Perhaps they were loath to leave Egypt.
But as Zac reminded them, their flight was awaiting them, and of course they were curious to see this 'plane that Franklin had bought on Jim's behalf.

Everyone in the three limos was somewhat subdued as they drove past all the various temples, shops and hotels that they had come to know so well during their stay in Luxor.
Unfortunately, 'Luxor Airport' was a bit of a 'let down'.

But no matter...
As they were about to embark on a large private jet, airline formalities were at a minimum.
Passports and visas were checked (which as Jim had said was important), and then Jim and the others met up with Zac and Tony and Ashraf in the VIP lounge.
In next to no time they were driven out onto the tarmac where their 'plane was waiting.
"Gee wiz !
Is that our 'plane ?", Ethan blurted out - immediately apologising to Clare for his language (?).

As the main door opened, an attractive stewardess descended the steps, and welcomed them aboard, while their luggage was being loaded.
Moments later they were passing into the entrance lobby.
"This is amazing !", Glen said, as they were guided into the main lounge.
"OK - well you all get settled while I go and have a word with the Captain, and check with Tony and Zac to see if the 'freight' has been properly loaded into the cargo hold.", Jim said.
"Okey dokey !", Ethan said, as Teddy switched on his sensors that would reregister if there were any 'bugs' on the 'plane.

Novius, of course, had flown before - his first flight being from Los Angeles to Denver with Josh.
As they became accustomed to the new jet, the boys looked around, and Teddy started sorting out some cushions for himself in the corner of one of the sofas.

"It's much better than the Emirates 'plane... that one didn't have any proper sofas or cushions.", Teddy replied.
"True - and for big people like me." (not that Ethan was very big), "there's a lot more room, and you can walk about as much as you like."
Teddy, of course, was always nervous about flying - and now he was having to deal with what seemed to him to be a 'penthouse with wings' by distracting himself by trying to build a 'teddy-bear nest' with a pile of cushions.
As Teddy had said on previous occasions - 'if Tony had meant me to fly he would have fitted me with a jet-pack'..."

At that point the doors were closed, the engines got decidedly louder, and it was possible to feel the huge jet manoeuvring on the tarmac.
"Well... here we go...", Brody said - trying to impress everyone with the fact that he was not a 'nervous flyer', whereas, although he had flown on occasions since becoming one of the 'gang', he was not entirely sure of the take-offs and landings.

Teddy, as Ethan expected switched himself off, after asking Ethan to switch him back on once take-off had been safely accomplished.
And so the newly acquired, private jet soared up into the sky, leaving Luxor and Egypt far behind.
"Well, that was nice and smooth...", Novius observed, sounding like a seasoned traveller.
Although 'plane still gently climbing, Jim then asked for everyone's attention...
"Now I hope you all like our new mode of transport, and I think you will all agree that there is plenty of space, and it is very comfortable, although the journey back to the 'States will still be a long one - about fourteen hours.", Jim began.

The main lounge - where we are now, a dining room, that doubles as a conference room, rooms for silent study, and the viewing of DVDs and listening to music - using earphones, of course..
There are also shower rooms and rest rooms. and some bedrooms - although not enough for all of us to use at the same time - so you will have to arrange with one of the stewardesses as regards your sleeping periods.
Lunch, an evening meal and a full breakfast shall be served, and in addition drinks and snacks are always available, but obviously there are no alcoholic drinks - but then none of you indulge.
Personal CD and DVD players and laptops are available, and there is a large library of DVDs, CDs, and also MP3 disks containing a wide range of reading material.", Jim continued.

And they all nodded appreciatively.
"In a short while I shall be calling some members of our group for a meeting in the conference room in order to review recent events and developments, and also to consider how we should proceed once we arrive back in 'Vegas."
So after giving everyone some time to get accustomed to being on board, and actually flying, Josh went round to those who were to attend the meeting in the conference room - and the members of the group who Jim had selected to attend were - obviously Josh, (who liaised with Franklin, and had overall supervision of assets, Novius (who supervised various aspects of research, and also because of his seniority), Teddy, accompanied by Ethan, (Ethan was responsible for Hospitality and Entertainments), 'Sigi', (Ethan's assistant), Tony, (responsible for Technology Development), Zac (head of Security), and Glen (who was to be made responsible for Transport and Travel).
Rather than Jim, it was Glen who, surprisingly, spoke first...
"So, why did you buy this 'plane, and how did we afford to buy it - I imagine must have cost a great deal of money.", Glen boldly asked.
"Yes... well it's a good question, Glen...
Actually it was Franklin's idea.
He felt that with our rising economic profile we needed to project a more 'substantial' image
He argued that we could hardly all pop out of something looking like an elevator - even if we leave aside how we could explain what it really was - and using ordinary passenger airliners was not really appropriate, so the best solution was a big 'plane, just like the 'Boss'' always used big limos - and we still do....", Jim began.

"Well, when Franklin first mentioned the idea of buying a large airliner, I though the cost would be a problem, but at about the same time there was the matter of the recently discovered mineral deposits in the land that the 'Boss' had originally acquired in Mexico.", Jim began explaining.
"You mean the gold.", Ethan interrupted.
"Yes, the gold and other minerals, and so income from those assets could be used as collateral against the money we needed for the purchase of the airliner.", Jim replied.
"Well I don't really understand that... but as long as you're happy that we can afford this thing - then OK.", Ethan said.
"Thank you...
and one way that we were able to get a good deal was to sign a long term agreement with Boeing that we would keep the 'Boeing' livery on the plane - and any other planes that we bought from them - rather than display the 'Athena Corporation' or 'Air West' logos - after all we don't need that kind of publicity, particularly as we might wish to fly 'incognito' as it were.", Jim explained.
"Ah... clever !", 'Sigi' commented.
"So that's that settled !", Teddy announced as, with a flourish, he finished typing that part of the minutes into his bright blue 'Hewlett Packard' laptop.
Jim smiled, and then continued....
"Good...
So the next matter we need to consider is our return to 'Vegas...

"And we need to ensure that security is tight, particularly in the casinos - so I want Zac to work in conjunction with Ethan and 'Sigi' - and 'Sigi' - don't complain about your 'gap year' - there's another holiday coming up for you, which I will mention later."
Jim then turned to Ethan...
"Now Ethan - I know while we've been away you've been working on some music for the 'Park Theatre' in Paradise, 'Vegas, so I want you to get some new shows ready - and include Aaron, so that we can get that venue attracting more attention - and then use that as a way to advertise Mexico and Palanque - and the new 'Air West' services to the Chiapas area..."

And you can fly there by our new 'Air West' airline - and also check the service...", Jim said.
"So what about this other holiday ?", 'Sig' asked with a grin...

"So isn't that the area where 'the Boss' was when he excavated at Palenque when he first came here ?", Josh asked - here meaning America.
"And wasn't that where him and Faunus - pretending to be 'Don Picaro' - 'stole' all that Mayan stuff - and brought it back to the US - and made a fortune ?", Ethan added.
"Well yes - but I don't think 'stole' is really appropriate.
They discovered Mesoamerican antiques... ", Jim said.
"OK - but will we get to see this Palenque place ?", Ethan asked.
"Yes, and also the 'Casa na Balam', which you own.", Jim added.

How come ?", Ethan exclaimed.
"Yes... it's the 'House of the Jaguars', in 'San Cristóbal de las Casas', near Palenque.
'Balam' is the Mayan word for jaguar, also means 'priest' and 'sorcerer', and shamans frequently chose them as the object of their transformations.
It's where 'the Boss' used to stay, and he kept it - and it was left to you in his will - but you probably never read the will thoroughly.
Part of it is now a museum, & Franklin looks after it for you - financially at least.
It makes a fair bit of money for you, and now it's somewhere to stay in Mexico.", Jim explained.
Ethan looked thunderstruck.
San Cristóbal de las Casas, also known by its native Tzotzil name, Jovel, is a town and municipality located in the Central Highlands region of the Mexican state of Chiapas. It was the capital of the state until 1892, and is still considered the cultural capital of Chiapas.

Ethan, of course was worried about the kittens, but they were safe in the pressurised hold, along with the sarcophagus and Tony.
Later, lunch was served as the huge airliner crossed the seemingly endless expanse of the north African deserts - but there was little to see.
"Well I never knew I had a house in Mexico...", Ethan declared to Teddy, as they made their way back to the sofa on which Teddy had carefully arranged all his cushions
"That's because you don't pay enough attention when people are talking to you.", Teddy said.
"...'suppose so...", Ethan replied reluctantly.
"Franklin did read the will to you, but maybe that was the point when you dozed off.", Teddy commented.
"Probably...", Ethan replied.
"So, Ethan - you're very rich young man...", Teddy said.
"And why do you say that ?", Ethan asked.
"Well - you have a house in San Cristóbal, in Chiapas, Mexico, and of course there's the 'Penthouse Building', in Summerlin in Vegas, and Summerlin is probably the most expensive residential areas in Nevada".Teddy explained.

"And then there's your half ownership of the Athena Park Hotel, and the Park Theatre in Paradise, in Clarke County, Nevada.
Paradise contains McCarran International Airport; the 'University of Nevada Las Vegas'and most of the 'Las Vegas Strip'. Paradise also contains most of the tourist attractions in the Las Vegas area, excluding downtown.
Also, now that we are back, Jim will be working with Franklin in order to acquire 'Caesars Palace'.

But don't let him know I told you...", Teddy said, sharing a secret that Jim had been keeping from Ethan.
'Caesars Palace' is a hotel and casino in Paradise, Nevada, United States. It is one of Las Vegas's largest and best known landmarks - and is built in an ornate Roman Classical style.

The 'Villa Auream' - or 'Golden Villa' was the villa owned by 'the Boss' (Gracchus) in Baiae, which is situated on the 'Sinus Napoli' (Gulf of Naples) in Italy. The Villa was so named because of its gilded roof tiles, and huge gilded bronze entrance doors.
Later, Ethan and Teddy went to bed.Teddy, of course, didn't need to sleep - he never did - but he was interested to see what a bedroom on an airliner might be like, and he also wanted to know if Ethan would be able to sleep, flying miles above the ground.
"Well I know it's in an aeroplane, but it could have been a bit bigger...", Teddy replied, as he tried to get himself comfortable on the one and only cushion.
"Well there are quite a few bedrooms, as this 'plane will sometimes have a number of passengers, like for this trip - but it's better than dozing in one of those Emirates seats - and anyway, you're little, so you don't need to stretch out.", Ethan replied.
"True...", Teddy said - and promptly switched onto to 'minimal mode'.
Hours later Teddy's internal timer switched him on to 'normal mode' - meaning that Teddy 'woke up'.
Almost immediately Teddy started jumping up and down on Ethan squeaking 'Wake up ! Wake up !'.
Teddy did find it tiresome that humans were not equipped with reliable internal timers.
"What's going on ?
"Where are we ?", Ethan mumbled, as he pushed Teddy off the bed.

And it was true.
The huge 'Boeing Dreamliner' was making its way across the jagged sierras, towards the city of Las Vegas.
In moments Ethan was dressed and bounded into the main lounge to find the rest of the 'gang' gazing out of the cabin windows at the darkened, starlit sky.

At the same time the precious contents of the cargo hold - the carefully crated sarcophagus, was being loaded onto an ominous looking armoured truck that was to transport the sarcophagus to the 'Villa Athena'.
"So Teddy - the end of another exciting trip...", Ethan remarked, as the went through passport and customs control.
Having landed at McCarran Airport, the sarcophagus is transported to the Villa Athena along with Novius, Tony and the kittens - 'Sigi' return to Henderson - Zac, Brody, Glen, Clare, Ethan and Teddy and Jim all are driven to the 'Penthouse Building'. And then it is down to business before a visit, for some, to Mexico
